This section of the station is on two levels. Level -1 is the area inside the gates of the Western Concourse, whilst Level -2 is platform level.
Steps from the east and west sides of the Level -1 area go down to platform level, such that there are two portions of the central reservation at Level -2 in the island platform. We'll call these the east and west sections. There is lift access only to the west section.
Steps go up from the east section to an emergency exit and a route to the Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines. This is actually the two flights of 11 steps we used to use!
There is tactile paving along the edge of these platforms.
From the Western Concourse, go through the gates (south). From here, you can turn either left or right and go down steps to platform level. Platform 1, westbound lies south of platform 2, eastbound.
From the Level -2 section of the Tube Concourse, go up the six steps to your left before the gate line. These lead you south, via a short passage which brings you to the top of the 2 x 11 steps leading down west into the east section of the central reservation.
There are three pillars, north/south across the middle of this space, the north pillar is outside the gates, opposite gate 6.

At the time of our survey, there was no indication of which is intended to be entrance or exit.

The concourse widens to each side with three pillars along the middle, north/south, two to your left (north) one on your right (south).

You go up 11 steps, blank door on left, then 11 steps, going east to a passage running north/south. At the south end is an emergency exit.
