THE NORTHERN LINE PLATFORMS 7 AND 8 |

These platforms run approximately west from the stairs and escalators from the Tube Concourse, with platform 7, northbound lying south of platform 8, southbound.
Lift G, from the Tube Concourse is just west of the escalators, whilst the steps towards escalators from the Northern concourse are at the west end of these platforms.
There is tactile paving along the platform edges.
Go down the left-hand (north) set of escalators, towards the Piccadilly Line. Turn right and right again before going down the escalators to the Northern Line. The northbound, platform 7 is to your left, whilst the southbound, platform 8 is to your right.
Having gone through the gates, take the turning left and locate the lift on your right. The call button is to your right of the door.
Go down to Level -3, leave via the other doors, take the turning left and continue to the passage leading from the foot of the escalators, to your right.
For platform 7, northbound, turn right, take the turning right and continue onto the platform.
For platform 8, southbound, turn left then take the turning right and continue onto the platform.
From the foot of the escalators to the Piccadilly Line, take the second turning left (west), go down ten then ten steps, going west and follow the passage, which turns left (south), go down six steps, going south then turn right (west), go down 13 steps going west and continue onto platform 8. For platform 7, take the first turning left and continue, past the foot of the escalators onto the platform.
Although you could take Lift H to the Level -2, there is no lift access between here and the Northern Line platforms. The lift access is from the Tube Concourse, as described above. We will therefore only describe the escalator route between the Northern concourse and these platforms.
From the Northern Concourse (Level -1) locate the escalators to Level -2, the left-hand one is normally the one you need, go down to Level -2 and continue forward (south) to the escalators in front of you.
Again, the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need. The passage continues forward. Note that each wall juts in a short distance beyond the foot of the escalators.
The passage continues south with blank doors to each side, then veers right slightly before crossing the southbound track and turning right (west). there's a help point on the right-hand (west) side just before the passage crosses the track.
You go down ten then ten steps, going west to platform level. These steps are divided by a central rail, keep left. There's tactile flooring at the top and bottom of these steps.
At platform level, platform 7, northbound is to your left, platform 8, southbound is to your right, you're at the west end of the platforms.
This is considered in two sections, that towards the east end of the platforms is at the foot of the escalators from the Piccadilly Line, whilst the west section is at the foot of steps in the route from the Northern Concourse.
