METROPOLITAN LINE

Colour - Pantone 235 mauve

Overview

Our thanks go to Chris Cook for the following.

The line has three main branches which join at Harrow-on-the-Hill:

The Chesham Branch joins the Amersham Branch at Chalfont & Latimer, whilst the Watford Branch  joins the Amersham Branch at Moor Park, from where they both run together to Harrow-on-the-Hill.

All trains on the Watford branch serve the intermediate stations between Moor Park and Harrow-on-the-Hill, whilst the majority of Amersham trains run non-stop between these two stations.

East of Harrow-on-the-Hill, trains originating in either Uxbridge or Watford usually call at intermediate stations between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Finchley Road, whilst Amersham trains usually run fast from Harrow-on-the-Hill to either Wembley Park or Finchley Road.

At off-peak times, Uxbridge trains run to and from Aldgate, whilst Amersham and Watford trains start and terminate at Baker Street. At peak times, many trains from all three branches run to and from Aldgate and there is also one morning and one evening return through service from Chesham.
