WIDE AISLE GATE
London Underground is installing Wide Aisle Gates (WAGs) in many of its stations.
These are wide automatic gates, suitable for use by wheelchair users, those with Guide or Assistance dogs and customers with large luggage or pushchairs.
They’re operated in the same way as the normal automatic gates and there will normally be one in the entrance and exit section of each gate line.
In some stations, such as Victoria, Wide Aisle Gates have replaced the manual gates, though staff are still on hand to assist as necessary.
There's a Wide Aisle exit gate to your right as you come in from the Fish Street Hill entrance. As this is the only one we found at the time of our survey, we presume staff would operate this bi-directionally on request.
There was a luggage gate at the other end of the gate line, which we believe may be replaced in due course.
