The line has two main branches from Edgware and High Barnet, which join at Camden Town.
Trains from Millhill East nowadays just operate a shuttle service between Millhill East and Finchley Central on the High Barnet Branch.
Trains from both branches then either run via Charing Cross (Charing Cross Branch) or via Bank (City Branch) to Kennington, where at off peak times all (Charing Cross Branch) trains terminate.
In the Southbound direction there is simple cross platform interchange with trains, which have run via the (City Branch) and are continuing on to Morden. At peak times many trains on the (Charing Cross Branch) also continue on to Morden.
In the Northbound direction there is also simple cross platform interchange between trains which are booked to run via the Charing Cross Branch and those which are booked to run via the City Branch.
