The station is located on the south side of Marylebone Road, west of Great Portland Street.
The station has two entrances/exits which emerge on the south side of Marylebone Road.
As you walk towards the station, from either direction, locate the barrier on the outside of the pavement which juts inwards before you reach the top of the stairs.
Go round the end of the barrier and move toward the road side before continuing forward to find the stairs. Go down 20 steps, parallel to Marylebone Road before turning away from the road (south) to go down 15 steps, going south to the concourse level. The lower stairs are divided by a wall into two flights though no sign indicates which side should be used in preference.
Continue south, from the bottom of the stairs, down a slight slope, with a rail to each side, into the concourse.
This is a busy road which is best crossed at traffic lights. For example, at the junction with Great Portland Street.
There's a phone box on the inside of the pavement, between the entrances.
Bus Stop B, a few metres east of the east exit, serves buses towards Marble Arch, Edgware Road or Marylebone, 18, 27, 30, 205, 453 and N18. The 27, 205 and 453 are 24 hour services.
Bus Stop A, opposite Stop B, serves buses towards King's Cross, 18, 27, 30, 205, 453 and N18. The 27, 205 and 453 are 24 hour services.
