FIND A PLATFORM FROM AN ENTRANCE |

This section describes two routes; one via escalators from the main concourse, the other via the spiral staircase.
From Entrance 1, 2 or 3 in the main concourse, turn left and follow the concourse round to your right to the ticket sales area at the far end. The entrance gates are opposite these.
From the subway, move forward about two metres and turn left, continue forward - the ticket sales area is on your left, the entrance gates on your right.
Go through the gates and bear left, (about 11 o'clock) to locate the escalators, the left-hand one is normally the one you need. Go down to the intermediate level.

To the Northern Line To the Central Line |
Turn left (180 degrees) from the foot of the escalator and continue down the escalator towards the Northern Line, the left-hand escalator is normally the one you need.
Continue forward, down a flight of stairs , turn right, down another flight of stairs onto platform 4, southbound. The rail on your left finishes at the rear of the train. For the northbound, platform 3, you should ideally take the passage on your right beyond the end of the rail, as this is in keeping with the intended traffic flow. You will be near the front of the train.
Turn left from the foot of the escalator, continue across the top of the escalators to the Northern Line, before turning right and following the left-hand wall. Continue forward, turn right and left again into the west spur of the intermediate level. Continue to the wall at the end, then turn right, then left again, down one flight of stairs to the island platform. Platform 1, westbound, is on your left, you're opposite the second carriage from the rear of the train. Platform 2, eastbound is on your right, you're opposite the second carriage from the front of the train.

Go through the gates and bear left, (about 10 o'clock) to locate the entrance to the spiral staircase.
Go down a flight of stairs, turn left then left again and go down another flight. Follow the passage, which curves to your right then curves left again. Continue forward to locate a metal grid at the top of the spiral stairs. Note the low headroom, 2 metres height just beyond the start of the grid.
Continue down the spiral, clockwise, descending 14 then 5 times 17 steps. Follow the passage, which turns right. The passage widens and emerges into a junction:

To the Northern Line To the Central Line |
Turn left and go down 20 steps to platform level. Platform 3 is in front of you, you're at the front of the train. For platform 4, southbound, take the first turning left, continue to the wall in front of you then turn right. A metal rail continues along the edge of the platform to the rear of the train.
Continue forward from the junctione, go up two flights of stairs, to the intermediate level. Turn right then left, continue to the wall facing you then turn right and left again into the west spur. Continue to the wall at the end, turn right then left and go down a flight of stairs to platform level. Platform 1 Central Line westbound is on your left, you are near the second carriage from the rear of the train. Platform 2, eastbound, is on your right, you are near the second carriage from the front of the train.
