FIND AN EXIT FROM A PLATFORM

DESCRIBE ONLINE

Overview

You can leave the station via either the Bridge Road or Olympic Square entrances. The Bridge Road entrances are only open between 06:30 and 21:30.

We direct you from all six platforms in this station. Fast Metropolitan Line trains now stop at platform 1 (northbound) and platform 6 (southbound) except for 07:00 - 09:00 and between 17:00 and 19:00 when they don't stop at this station.

Each platform can be left via the lift or steps into the concourse or via steps to the north bridge. The routes to the concourse are near the rear of northbound or front of southbound trains, whilst the north bridge is about in the middle of the platforms.

There are two sets of steps to the north bridge from platforms 2 - 6, but only one set, going up towards the rear of the train, from platform 1. The wide walkway from the north bridge towards the gate line is opposite the steps from platform 1.

There's tactile paving along the edge of each platform.

The original gate line is opposite platforms 2 - 3 whilst the new gate line is to your right. If you use the original gate line, towards the Bridge Road exits, the gates you need are normally at the right-hand end of this gate line. There's a bi-directional Wide Aisle Gate at the left-hand end. Go through the gates and continue through the exit onto Bridge Road. Note that these exits are only available between 06:30 and 21:30.

The new gate line is arranged in three blocks, which we call blocks 3 to 1, stepped from right to left as you move away from the platforms. At the time of our survey, the near block (3) was an entrance, the middle (block 2) was an exit and the far block (1) was an entrance. We suspect block 3 will always be an entrance, whilst block 1 may be set to exit according to demand relating to events at the Stadium. turn right, go through the gates then turn left towards the Olympic Square exit. If you need Bridge Road, turn left at the tactile flooring inside the Olympic Square exit and continue, following the right-hand wall, to locate the exits into Bridge Road. Note that these exits are only available between 06:30 and 21:30.

Note that there's a bi-directional Wide Aisle Gate at the right-hand end of the barrier leading left from the far end of the new gate line.
