From the Bridge Road Entrances

There are three entrances giving step-free access from Bridge Road into the concourse. Note that the fourth (original entrance) is no longer in use. The right-hand of the three entrances, marked "B", is the original exit from the station and is opposite the former exit gateline. This gate line now has a bi-directional Wide Aisle Gate at the right-hand end with two automatic entrances to your left of this. Note that the Bridge Road entrances are only available between 06:30 and 21:30.

The original ticket sales windows, to your right of this gate line are only open during peak morning hours, Monday to Friday. If you need to buy a ticket outside these times, turn left, follow the left-hand side to the tactile flooring inside the Olympic Square entrance, turn right and follow the directions from this entrance.

From the left-hand or middle entrance, marked "D" and "C" respectively, continue to the barrier in front of you then turn right. You'll pass the two exit gates, before you reach the two entrances followed by the Wide Aisle Gate.

Go through the gates, you're now opposite the lift and steps onto platforms 2 - 3, northbound.

From here you can reach all platforms via lift or steps.

Via the Steps

Continue forward from the gates, you pass the lift to platforms 2 - 3 before you reach the tactile flooring indicating the top of the steps.

From the Olympic Square Entrance

From Olympic Square, you can either walk up 49 steps or take the lift to concourse level.

Via the Steps

You go up three flights of steps. These steps are divided into ten sections by rails. At the top, there are pillars between the 3rd and 4th set from each side. Go through the doors into the concourse.

Via the Lift

See the lifts page for details of this lift. Go to concourse level, turn right, locate the tactile flooring inside the doors then turn left into the concourse.

The ticket sales windows are at the far end of the left-hand wall. There's a simple queuing system, between Tensa barriers, which leads you straight to the windows. The new gate line is to your right, starting at about 2 o'clock. This gate line, through which you move at right angles to the entrance, is divided into three blocks of gates, which we number from 1 to 3, going away from the entrance. These blocks of gates are arranged such that, as you face away from the entrance, block 2 is set left of block 1 and block 3 is set left of block 2. There's a bi-directional Wide Aisle Gate at the near end of the barrier which leads to your right from the near end of block 1.

At the time of our survey, blocks 1 and 3 were entrances, whilst block 2 was the exit. We believe block 1 could become an exit according to demand, during events at the Stadium. We believe, however, that block 3, which is nearest to the ticket sales windows, will always be an entrance.

We therefore suggest that, to use the automatic gates, you move forward, from the doors, to the barrier or wall in front of you then turn right and go through either the manual gate or the gates of block 3, in front of you. From here, you're facing the entrance to the passage towards the north bridge which gives stairs access to all platforms. Alternatively, you can turn right towards the original section of the concourse to use the lifts.

For the north bridge, move forward, if you find a wall in front of you move to your right, then bear left into the passage and follow this to the top of the steps to platform 1.

During our survey, we noted visual signs which can be switched to direct people through this section of the station, we suggest you follow the crowd or, if there's no crowd, make your own way.
