Two parts of the tramway will be closed during the 2011 season: the section between Starr Gate and Pleasure Beach is closed for the testing of new vehicles and driver training until Easter 2012. Due to collapsing sewers in the Cleveleys area the service is only operating between Pleasure Beach and Little Bispham. We understand that further parts of the system will become available before the end of the season and further information will be included in this page as it becomes available.

The no. 1 bus service has now been restored to its full route between South Shore and Fleetwood.

General Information

Starr Gate tram stop and terminus is approximately 100 yards from Squires Gate railway station on the Blackpool South line. This means either a moderate walk or a short bus journey. In order to reach the bus stop from Star Gate tram terminus, it is necessary to cross the Promenade Road, adjoin Squires Gate Lane to the first bus stop and then services 7 or 11 provide a frequent service to Blackpool Town Centre. Both services operate past Squires Gate railway station on the way to and from the Airport. The railway station is the second stop on Squires gate Lane and the Airport is the third stop also on Squires Gate Lane travelling towards the town centre.
