FIND THE EXIT FROM THE PLATFORM
The doors will open on your right as you face the front of the train. Note that you're getting out onto an island platform, about three metres wide with tactile paving 50 cm from each edge. This means that there's only about a metre strip along the middle of the platform between the two sets of tactile.
Turn right from the outer circle (left from the inner), continue to the steps and go up two flights of steps to booking hall level. There's corduroy tactile paving at the top and bottom of these steps.
The gate line is in front of you with the manual gate towards the left-hand end and the two automatic exits to your right of this.
Go through the gates and continue towards the exit. If you find the wall in front of you, move right to locate the entrance. You can go forward, up eight steps into Cessnock Street, or turn right and go up eight steps into Walmer Terrace. There's corduroy tactile paving at the top and bottom of these steps.
