The system is split into two lines that follow the same route between Pelaw and South Gosforth.
On the Green Line Platforms are on the left side of the train in the direction of travel except for: Haymarket, Monument, Central, Gateshead, Gateshead Stadium, Felling, Pelaw, Sunderland and South Hylton where they are on the right.
At Airport station trains can terminate with the exit on either left or right hand side of the train. As the train will wait for at least five minutes before departing again you will have plenty of time to leave the train.
N.B. In emergency trains may terminate short of destinations and the doors may not be on the side expected.
