Overview

This is Glasgow's major bus station with 57 numbered stances, serving a wide range of destinations.

Layout

The bus station consists of a main building which houses the concourse, cafe and other facilities which lies to the west of the stance area. The stances, numbered clockwise from stance 1 in the northwest corner of this area, are arranged in four blocks around a rectangle, such that:

The buses enter and leave from the southeast corner of the stance area, between stances 32 and 33; hence it is easier to reach stances 23 to 32 by going clockwise from the concourse.

Accessibility

There is level access from Killermont Street and throughout the bus station. There is Stairs access from Cowcaddens Road, though details of the underpass lie beyond the scope of our survey.

In addition, the REACT way finding system, plus the audio units at stances offer some way finding capability and the Special Terminal for the Visually Impaired provides audio access to departures information. Assistance is also available from the staffed travel centre.
