This is normally regarded as an emergency stairs exit from platform to intermediate level. There are 90 steps between the intermediate level and the northbound, 89 to the southbound island platform.
From the west end of the island platform 5 - 6 enter the first passage and turn west, go up 11 steps, going west. Turn left (south) and go up 14 steps, going south to reach the bridge. Turn right (west) towards the spiral stairs.
From the island platform 3 - 4 enter the first passage from the west end and turn west. Go up 12 steps, going west, turn right (north) and go up 14 steps, going north onto the bridge. Take the turning west towards the spiral stairs.
From the bridge, go up five steps, going west, then 51 steps up a spiral staircase which turns anti-clockwise (up 3 times 17 steps), there's tactile flooring at the top. Follow the wall round to your left and go up eight steps, going west to reach the intermediate level.
