FIND THE RNIB, 224 GREAT PORTLAND STREET FROM AN EXIT

DESCRIBE ONLINE

Although not the most direct, the route I recommend here is probably the safest as you only have two straight crossings to make and it is pretty obvious what the traffic's doing. The other routes require you to cross at an angle to reach an island and then cross again to the pavement.

Go through the Marylebone Road exit and turn left, beware the bollards in the middle of the pavement. Locate the Pelican crossing in front of you, which crosses the northbound arm of Great Portland Street. There is a rotating cone fitted to this crossing and the traffic can only come from your left. Go when the traffic in Marylebone Road, on your right begins to move!

Turn left, cross a few minor entries and locate the Pelican crossing over Great Portland Street, just beyond the railings on your left. If you find a significant road junction, you've overshot.

Cross Great Portland Street. Note, this is a long crossing so you need to move briskly to cross in the allowed time. Turn left and find the entrance to the RNIB on your right. There is normally a distinctive sound beacon indicating the entrance.
