From Entrance 1, 2 or 3 in the main concourse, turn left and follow the concourse round to your right to the ticket sales area at the far end. The entrance gates are opposite these.
From the subway, move forward� about two metres and turn left, continue forward - the ticket sales area is on your left, the entrance gates on your right.
Go through the gates and bear left, (about 10 o'clock) to locate the entrance to the spiral staircase.
Descend a flight of stairs, turn left and left again and descend the second. Follow the passage, which curves to your right then curves left again. Continue forward to locate a metal grid at the top of the spiral. Note the low headroom, 2 metres height just beyond the start of the grid.
Continue down the spiral, clockwise, descending 14 then 5 times 17 steps. Follow the passage, which turns right,� past a noisy ventilator on your right. The passage widens and emerges into a junction:

To the Northern Line To the Central Line |
Turn left and descend 20 steps to the island platform 3 and 4 Northern Line. Platform 3, northbound is on your right you're at the front of the train. For the southbound, platform 4, take the first passage on your left. You're at the rear of the train.
Continue forward from the junctione. Ascend two flights of stairs, turn Right then left into the circulating area. Continue to the wall facing you then turn right and left again into a passage with a metal barrier along the middle. Turn right at the end, then left again, descend a flight of stairs to the island platform. Platform 1 Central Line westbound is on your left, you are near the second carriage from the rear of the train. Platform 2, eastbound, is on your right, you are near the second carriage from the front of the train.
