THE WESTERN CONCOURSE, OUTSIDE THE GATES

Overview

This section includes the Level 0 and -1 sections of this concourse, outside the gates, plus the passage from the Euston Road South entrances.

Note that the area inside the gates is included in the Metropolitan Line Platforms page.

Level 0

From the entrance near the corner of Pancras and Euston Roads, you enter a rectangular, covered area. This is effectively a balcony running around an atrium from the Level -1 section of this concourse. Around the outside of this space, we have:

North Side, Going West

The steps and lift to the Metropolitan Line are in the west end of the atrium, the lift being to your left (north) of the steps. There's a barrier around the other sides of this atrium.

The Steps to Level -1

From the West Side

You go down nine then six steps, going east. These steps are divided into four sets by rails. There's tactile paving at the top and bottom of these steps.

On the South Side

You go down 11 steps, going south, turn left (180 degrees north) then go down 12 steps, going north, you're just west of the top of the slope which goes down to your right.

The Level -1 Section

We’re now opposite the foot of the steps from outside King’s Cross Station, with the lift to our left (north) of the steps.

Go to the west end of the barrier and follow this left then right and wait for a window to become free. These are announced, numbered 1 to 4 from the left (east).
